IF InputLongTextTest.RUNMODAL = ACTION::OK THEN BEGIN IF NOT ISNULL(BinaryReader) THEN BEGIN //read value from BLOB field
#Mibuso getdata find code#
On the List page I wrote code in trigger OnDrillDown of the BLOB field to read data from it, open the StandardDialog page to enter or change the text and then, if the text was modified, to write the new text into the BLOB field: Description - OnDrillDown()īinaryReader := BinaryReader.BinaryReader(InStr,Encoding.UTF8) The text in this case can be of any length, as you can see in this example:įor showing the concept, I created a test table(with a BLOB field) and two pages: one list page with the records and one StandardDialog page with a Text field based on a global variable (unlimited text). Let’s see now how we can use a BLOB field to read and write text data. ( even if in that case it is better to use the built in NAV datatypes Media and MediaSet.) I used it also in this post to attach files to records. I also wrote about a workaround to something related to this, you can find the post here: Extended Comments in NAVĪnother possibility is to use a BLOB field. It just adds an extra step where they have to copy all the data and paste into a new sheet. Most people get tripped up when they export the data and cannot add/remove columns because they just bounce back. Good to hear! I have it disabled for all of our users that use export to excel functionality. This is an absolutely fabulous suggestion! I'll tell you how it goes.
By the way this Excel add-in is different then the Excel Add-in then can be set up to allow you to edit data in Excel and pust back to NAV.
#Mibuso getdata find windows#
In NAV 2018 Windows Client that add-in simply allows you to refresh a list that you exported to Excel earlier. You might ask what functionality are you removing? Not much.
#Mibuso getdata find install#
You could remove the Add-in permanently or never install it in the first place as well.
We are on NAV 2018, on prem, windows client. Have you tried disabling the NAV excel addon in excel on the machines that are not exporting the functions? Subject: Exporting to Excel, why no functions exporting?
